The Details

This project should get you motivated, both figuratively and literally to get snapping! The clock is ticking with 100 composed photographs in 100 days.
I hope this assignment hits the intended purpose of taking lots of photographs all semester long. Grant yourself some time to spend taking photos each week. Mark your calendar, set a date and time when photography will take place. Meet a friend, go out with family member, classmate and make it an event. You will have a far better chance of success when you Name it and Date it!
You may substitute up to 20 themes from the list provided below with your own selections. Each photograph must be your own, shot this semester. Each photograph should be clearly labeled for the theme it is intended to fulfill. You may manipulate the photograph digitally (please keep an original). Digital PowerPoint presentations will occur each month. This assignment is worth 20% of your course grade. The mark breakdown will be as follows:
Sept or March 5%
Oct orApril 5%
Nov. or May. 5%
Dec or June 5%
4 Months= 20%
Please check the course calendar for exact presentation dates. You will be given two class days for preparing the presentations.
Monthly Presentation of Work (5% per month)
At the end of each month an informal digital presentation which includes 25 photographs will take place. You will be able to get some critiques on your work from peers and instructor during this time. You must also prepare a short oral critique of your work. Students not prepared to present on the presentation dates will be reduced marks under the application criteria.
Monthly 8"X 10" Mounted Prints
Each month you are require to print and mount two 8" X 10" prints from your collection. Provide a brief artistic statement for each print explaining the compositional elements used in the photograph and how your interpreted the photographs for the selected theme. This critique should be fixed to the back of the print.
What to Hand in For Evaluation
Each month you must upload your completed presentation to D2L for evaluation plus the two jpeg of the prints with critiques.
